The sauna is delivered as a complete DIY kit made of Thermowood, a more environmentally friendly alternative to pressure-treated timber. Since the heat-treated spruce is dimensionally stable, you won’t need to tighten the metal band around the sauna barrel as often. The wood also requires no immediate treatment after assembly. If you want to keep the barrel wood-coloured, it’s enough to maintain the wood by oiling it about once a year. Oil is included to protect the untreated spruce parts externally. The oil provides a similar shade to the heat-treated wood, and we recommend that you surface treat the parts with this. The sauna barrel is delivered in a ready-to-assemble kit that you can put together in just a couple of days.
